Henna color

Henna color "I can make you 'henna' color you want."

Imay be paraphrasing, but it's a joke from The Three Stooges.

I'm a bit henna colored now. Izzy got a kit to do henna on me again. We did it a couple of years ago. This time she did my arm and leg.

I’ve always been intrigued by henna. While I never wanted a tattoo, I liked the temporary aspect of henna. I like it that the Indian designs have meaning. I like the intricacies of the design. If or rather when I go to India, I’ll have proper henna done on my hands.

My artsy daughter isn’t daunted by the teensy bottle, thin liquid and the difficulties of drawing random patterns on someone’s skin. (She would have made a good tattoo artist.)

I’ve already gotten used to them. It’s like they’ve always been there. But really, it’s been less than 24 hours.

Still, I’m still glad it’s not permanent. I wouldn’t want to have these designs permanently placed. But I like the effect. It seems fitting for summer and for my life right now. There’s not a lot of permanence.
